Permission Levels

Working with monitoring templates requires specific permission levels. Available permission levels include:

  • Create and Edit: Allows full control over template creation and modification.
  • Customize: Permits limited changes based on predefined options.
  • Manage: Enables assignment and administration of templates.
  • View: Grants read-only access to template configurations.

Permissions

The following table describes the permissions required for each monitoring feature.

Metrics and Events
  • Monitor_View: To view the metrics/events listing page.
  • Metric_Manage: To create, update, and view metrics/events.
Syslog Rules
  • Monitor_View: To view the Syslog Rules listing page.
  • Monitor_Manage: To create, update, and delete the syslog rules.
Templates
  • Monitor_View: To view the templates listing page.
  • Monitors_Manage or Monitors_Create_Edit: To create and edit templates.
  • Monitors_Manage: To delete templates.
  • Monitors_Manage or Monitors_Create_Edit or Monitors_Customize: To update templates.
Alert Definitions
  • Metric-Based tab: Visible only with Alerts_View and Metrics_Manage permissions.
  • Template-Based tab: Visible only with Devices_Manage and Access to: All Resources permissions.
    To create, edit, and delete policy: Devices_Manage and Access to: All Resources permissions.
  • Budget-Based tab: Visible only with Devices_View, Monitors_View, and Users_View permissions. Not available for Service Providers.
